Cityscape & Sea

Culture‑first urban–coastal riding that blends Alicante’s city character with blue‑horizon seafronts. Route C is a 155 km, ~3.5 h loop taking in El Campello and San Juan seafronts, Alicante’s Explanada promenade and Santa Bárbara Castle viewpoints, and colorful Villajoyosa with a sweet interlude at the renowned Valor Chocolate Museum. It adds a scenic inland ribbon around the Amadorio reservoir and balcony roads via Aigües–Busot before rolling back to the sea. GPX + timings confirmed at briefing.
Prefer the mountains? Route A — Mountain Twists covers 115 km through the Aitana sierras, and Route B — Landscapes & Peaks takes you inland through Xixona and Font Roja.

Practical notes

  • Urban sections may involve traffic lights, bus lanes, and pedestrian crossings—keep groups compact, ride a tight stagger, and be patient.
  • Respect lower limits entering towns and seafront zones; noise carries in harbor districts.
Museum timings, recommended parking, and any pedestrianized access notes are in your GPX pack and briefing notes.
  • Expect cyclists on Aigües/Busot segments and beach traffic near coves—ride predictively.
  • Wind can be gusty on exposed seafronts and ridgelines; pack a light layer.
  • Fuel up before roll‑out; services are thinner between Orxeta and Aigües.
  • Check tyre pressures before departure.
  • Full GPX, turn‑by‑turn notes, and the recommended stop list are provided at the morning briefing
  • Review the IBEX26 safety and group ride rules — all riders receive a morning briefing before each departure.
