Discover the flavors of Spain without leaving basecamp. Our Market Place brings Costa Blanca and wider Spanish gastronomy to you—taste, choose your favorites, and either pack them safely for the journey or ship them home with care via our logistics partner GLS.
The Iberian Market Place is one of the highlights of our evening programme at basecamp — tastings, artisan producers, and the warmth of a Spanish village gathering.
What you’ll taste:
- Olives: classic Spanish varieties and marinades
- Extra‑virgin olive oil: cold‑pressed, single‑estate and blended
- Wines from the region: reds, whites, and rosés from DOP Alicante and nearby appellations
- Jamón and cured meats: jamón ibérico, chorizo, lomo.
- Almonds and sweets: Marcona almonds, local nougat (turrón de Jijona), and artisanal treats
- Famous Valor chocolate from Vila Joiosa: a nod to Route C’s sweet heritage
- Plus: a handful of local cheeses and pantry specialties (availability may vary)
- All market activity takes place at the Occidental Pueblo Acantilado — our fully privatised 4-star cliffside hotel on Spain’s Costa Blanca

- Buy: Take‑away packs sized for panniers and carry‑ons
- Ship: Prefer not to carry? We’ll pack and ship to your home with GLS
Shipping with GLS:

- Alcohol shipments follow destination‑country laws; recipient must be of legal drinking age
